What shapes the award.
- Weekly range
- $68 to $605. Wage requirements still apply.
- Duration
- Up to 26 weeks under this program. The modeled benefit balance is $15,730.
- Dependents
- The state has a dependents rule. Qualifying relationships and limits apply; use the dependents input to model it.
- Base period
- First four of the last five completed calendar quarters. An alternate or extended period may be available under the state’s conditions. Understand the quarters.
- Alternate-period detail
- A special four-quarter period before a compensable work injury may be requested when that injury prevented ordinary wage or credit-week qualification. A timely appeal and agency redetermination are required; this is not a general last-four-quarters alternative.
- Benefit balance and dependents
- The regular benefit balance excludes the dependency allowance. Eligible allowances are paid separately for weeks with a payable benefit; they do not shorten the duration shown.
- Who counts as a dependent
- Qualifying support at the claim start is required. The allowance is $5 for a dependent spouse, or a first child without a dependent spouse, plus $3 for another child; at most $8. Agency relationship, age and incapacity conditions apply. Overlapping parental claims cannot use the same child. Allowances are payable only with benefits and for at most the regular 18–26 entitlement weeks.
- Partial-week conditions
- Work must be less than full-time. The credit is the greater of $6 or 30% of the regular rate, rounded up; weekly gross employment earnings also round up. Deduct earnings above that credit from the regular rate before adding an eligible dependency allowance. The state reduction applies afterward. Vacation, pension, severance and availability adjustments have separate rules.
- Repeat benefit years
- A repeat claim also requires covered work and earnings of at least six times the previous weekly rate after the previous benefit year began and before the new application. This estimator does not check that separate intervening-work history.
- Full-time wage comparison
- The default uses the high-quarter table. If an established full-time weekly wage is entered, its nearest-dollar amount is compared at 50%, rounded down and subject to qualification and the cap. The agency must verify that wage from base-year employment. A timely appeal may be needed to request redetermination.
Before you count on it.
- Covered wages and employment are required.
- This checks only the modeled monetary rules. The agency also checks your employment history and other eligibility conditions.
- Separation, availability, work search and certification can affect payment.
- Tax withholding, offsets and agency adjustments can change the amount received.

Keeping the claim eligible.
Generally, from the third claimed week, apply for two jobs and complete one approved activity each week. Interviews, extra applications and agency exemptions can change the requirement. A reduced part-time week generally requires one application. Register with PA CareerLink within 30 days and retain detailed records for two years from the claim effective date.

Questions about Pennsylvania benefits.
How much unemployment will I get if I make $1,950 a week?
The modeled payment in Pennsylvania is about $585 per week, before tax withholding. Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters. The agency checks eligibility and can apply additional adjustments.
How long can the benefit last in Pennsylvania?
This calculation allows up to 26 payable weeks under the modeled regular program. This count uses the regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller. Wage credits, the benefit-year balance, certification and continuing eligibility can shorten payment. A maximum duration is not a guarantee.
Is there a waiting period before the first payment?
One eligible unpaid waiting week is required in the benefit year. File its weekly certification even though it is unpaid; an ineligible week does not satisfy the requirement.
Why can my actual payment be different?
Uneven covered wages, the claim or injury date, part-time earnings, dependents, taxes, offsets and eligibility can change a result. Use actual wage details in the calculator and compare the assumptions with your agency determination.
