Use actual wages & more details

Leave all quarters blank for steady pay. To use actual wages, fill all four; use 0 for an unpaid quarter.

Use only the wage quarters accepted on your OESC monetary determination. The statute distinguishes taxable wages for the weekly rate from total wages for qualification. A steady-pay illustration assumes all wages used here are accepted for those tests; employer tax limits and mixed taxable/total wage histories need OESC review. The claim starts Sunday; the handbook changes base-period quarters after the first Sunday in the quarter.

What shapes the award.

Weekly range
$16 to $649. Wage requirements still apply.
Duration
Up to 16 weeks under this program. The modeled benefit balance is $10,384.
Dependents
No dependents allowance in this modeled regular benefit.
Base period
First four of the last five completed quarters before the Sunday benefit-year start. An alternate or extended period may be available under the state’s conditions. Understand the quarters.
Covered-wage requirements
The ordinary test requires at least $1,500 of taxable wages and total base-period wages at least 1.5 times the highest quarter. An alternative requires some taxable wages and total wages of at least the current $25,000 taxable wage base; it can qualify one paid quarter. The modeled checks assume the entered wage totals meet the taxable-wage condition.
Partial-week conditions
For ordinary continued claims, work fewer than 32 hours and earn less than the weekly rate plus $100. Ignore the first $100, deduct excess earnings dollar for dollar and floor the payment. Report gross wages for the week worked. Initial or additional partial claims also require an agency finding of at least a 15% reduction in wages or hours; this tool does not establish that finding.
Duration conditions
The current agency publishes an ordinary sixteen-week ceiling and a $10,384 maximum award. Under conditional factor A, the statutory other limits are 47.5% of base-period wages and 23.75% of the state annual wage rounded to $100. The latter is $14,000 and cannot limit a sixteen-rate award capped at $10,384. Standard qualifying wages also make the 47.5% limit nonbinding, but it is checked here.
Work registration
Create an active job-seeker account at EmployOklahoma and publish an active resume. Follow required reemployment appointments and any approved waiver.

Before you count on it.

  • Covered wages and employment are required.
  • This checks only the modeled monetary rules. The agency also checks your employment history and other eligibility conditions.
  • Separation, availability, work search and certification can affect payment.
  • Tax withholding, offsets and agency adjustments can change the amount received.

This is a wage calculation and an informational screen. Your agency or insurer decides your claim.

Keeping the claim eligible.

Complete at least two qualifying work-search efforts each claimed week and keep a log. A repeat search for the same employer and position normally counts only once every four weeks; employer-requested follow-up interviews can count.

Benefits are taxable. The claimant portal offers optional 10% federal and 3% Oklahoma withholding, and provides Form 1099-G. Estimates are before withholding and offsets.

From applying to getting paid.

Waiting periods and processing time are different things.

  1. Apply with the agency

Use the official portal. Keep required records and confirm the claim or injury date.

  2. 7-day modeled wait

One otherwise eligible waiting week is unpaid. Certify that week; it does not subtract from the maximum benefit award.

  3. Certify and confirm payment

Certify each completed week beginning the following Sunday and within fourteen days of its week-ending date. Keep filing while decisions are pending and report all work and gross earnings for the week worked.

Questions about Oklahoma benefits.

How much unemployment will I get if I make $2,950 a week?

The modeled payment in Oklahoma is about $649 per week, before tax withholding. Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters. The agency checks eligibility and can apply additional adjustments.

How long can the benefit last in Oklahoma?

This calculation allows up to 16 payable weeks under the modeled regular program. This count uses the regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller. Wage credits, the benefit-year balance, certification and continuing eligibility can shorten payment. A maximum duration is not a guarantee.

Is there a waiting period before the first payment?

One otherwise eligible waiting week is unpaid. Certify that week; it does not subtract from the maximum benefit award.

Why can my actual payment be different?

Uneven covered wages, the claim or injury date, part-time earnings, dependents, taxes, offsets and eligibility can change a result. Use actual wage details in the calculator and compare the assumptions with your agency determination.

Where do I apply or check my claim?
