What shapes the award.
- Weekly range
- $35 to $320. Wage requirements still apply.
- Duration
- Up to 20 weeks under this program. The modeled benefit balance is $6,400.
- Dependents
- No dependents allowance in this modeled regular benefit.
- Base period
- First four of the last five completed calendar quarters before the Sunday claim start. No alternate period is modeled here. Understand the quarters.
- Covered-wage requirements
- Ordinarily have at least $1,500 in the highest quarter and total wages at least 1.5 times that quarter. The alternative is at least $19,500 in total covered wages spread across two quarters. This uses the statutory maximum taxable-wage base, rather than the employer’s current annual taxable limit.
- Partial-week conditions
- Work below full-time. Report gross weekly wages rounded up to a dollar, ignore the larger of $20 or 20% of the weekly rate, then deduct the excess and floor the payment. No payment remains when reported wages reach weekly rate plus that allowance.
- Duration conditions
- For credits, cap each quarter at twenty-six times your weekly rate. The ordinary balance is the lesser of twenty weekly rates or one-third of those credited wages. A smaller final payment can exhaust the balance; twenty weeks is not guaranteed.
- Work registration
- Register with Missouri employment services and follow any Missouri Job Center or reemployment appointment the deputy assigns.
Before you count on it.
- Covered wages and employment are required.
- This checks only the modeled monetary rules. The agency also checks your employment history and other eligibility conditions.
- Separation, availability, work search and certification can affect payment.
- Tax withholding, offsets and agency adjustments can change the amount received.

Keeping the claim eligible.
The current statute requires at least three work-search contacts for each claimed week unless the deputy directs otherwise. Follow the number on your determination and keep the details.

- Certify and confirm payment
File each weekly request in UInteract after the Sunday-Saturday week ends, within fourteen days of its ending date. Continue while a claim is pending; report wages for the week worked.

Questions about Missouri benefits.
How much unemployment will I get if I make $700 a week?
The modeled payment in Missouri is about $320 per week, before tax withholding. Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters. The agency checks eligibility and can apply additional adjustments.
How long can the benefit last in Missouri?
This calculation allows up to 20 payable weeks under the modeled regular program. This count uses the regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller. Wage credits, the benefit-year balance, certification and continuing eligibility can shorten payment. A maximum duration is not a guarantee.
Is there a waiting period before the first payment?
The first eligible week is initially unpaid; file its weekly request. DES may pay the waiting week as the last payment on the regular claim when its conditions are met.
Why can my actual payment be different?
Uneven covered wages, the claim or injury date, part-time earnings, dependents, taxes, offsets and eligibility can change a result. Use actual wage details in the calculator and compare the assumptions with your agency determination.
