Use actual wages & more details

Leave all quarters blank for steady pay. To use actual wages, fill all four; use 0 for an unpaid quarter.

Enter all four covered-wage quarters selected by the agency, including quarters with zero wages. Their average is always the total divided by four, not an average of only the paid quarters. The benefit year starts on the first day of the filing quarter; for example, a November 14 filing starts an October 1 benefit year. Follow the agency determination for the actual base period.

The draft rounds the lesser of 12 weekly rates or one-third of covered base-period wages up to a weekly-rate multiple. Primary-source confirmation of this award rounding is still pending. Partial payments can spread the balance over additional eligible calendar weeks before the benefit year expires.

Weekly limit

Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters.

Current 2026 guidance, with a conservative December 31, 2026 source-review deadline. This deadline does not imply that the frozen $81-$451 range changes on January 1. The next year is not activated without review.

Rule under review. Confirm the amount with the official agency.

Total-award rounding and low-wage duration still need primary-source confirmation. The draft uses the current codified upward weekly-rate-multiple rule; the federal table lists a 9-12 week range that is not reproduced by the ordinary wage-qualification calculation. Confirm your award and duration with the agency.

What shapes the award.

Weekly range
$81 to $451. Wage requirements still apply.
Duration
Up to 12 weeks under this program. The modeled benefit balance is $4,500.
Dependents
No dependents allowance in this modeled regular benefit.
Base period
First four of the last five completed calendar quarters. An alternate or extended period may be available under the state’s conditions. Understand the quarters.
Alternate-period detail
If the regular first four of the last five completed calendar quarters cannot establish a claim, the agency considers the most recent four completed calendar quarters. Use the four quarters on the agency determination; this estimator does not select or combine periods.
Reporting work
Report gross wages and all hours for the Sunday-Saturday week in which you worked, even before payday. Report other income requested by the agency. Severance, vacation, pension and other deductions require separate agency review.
Covered-wage requirements
At least two of the four selected quarters must contain covered wages. Total covered base-period wages must reach 35 times the weekly rate after the $81 minimum and $451 maximum are applied. The minimum-rate wage threshold is $2,835; a protected weekly minimum does not override wage qualification.
Partial-week conditions
Work fewer than 40 hours in the calendar week and earn strictly less than 140% of the weekly rate. The first 40% of the rate is ignored; wages above it reduce payment dollar for dollar. Round the final payment down to a whole dollar. This can produce zero before the gross-earnings limit is reached. Shared Work has separate rules.
Duration conditions
For initial claims filed on or after January 1, 2024, the ordinary ceiling is 12 weeks. The award uses the lesser of 12 weekly rates or one-third of covered base-period wages. Current codified section 11-10-504(b) says to round that award up to a weekly-rate multiple; direct primary-source confirmation of that rounding remains open.
Work registration
Register for work and create your Arkansas LAUNCH account with work experience, credentials or licenses and relevant job information. Follow the identity-verification instructions on your EZARC confirmation and any agency reporting or reemployment appointments. Agency-approved exceptions may apply.
Repeat benefit years
A succeeding benefit year requires the ordinary two-quarter and 35-times-rate wage tests, plus covered work and paid wages since filing the previous claim equal to at least ten times the weekly rate for the new claim. The 2019 amendment increased the intervening-wage test from eight to ten. This estimator does not check that separate work history.

Before you count on it.

  • Covered wages and employment are required.
  • This checks only the modeled monetary rules. The agency also checks your employment history and other eligibility conditions.
  • Separation, availability, work search and certification can affect payment.
  • Tax withholding, offsets and agency adjustments can change the amount received.

This is a wage calculation and an informational screen. Your agency or insurer decides your claim.

Keeping the claim eligible.

Unless the agency grants an exception, complete and report at least five qualifying work-search activities each claimed week. These include applications or resumes submitted to employers, interviews, a job fair (at most one per week), and qualifying training. Report the activities as part of weekly certification through LAUNCH or Arkline and keep details for audit. LAUNCH recommends matched jobs; follow required agency appointments.

Taxes and the amount received.

Arkansas benefits are taxable for federal and state income tax. You may elect 10% federal withholding. The agency provides Form 1099-G, normally by the end of January. The estimate is before withholding, child support and other offsets; a state withholding percentage is not assumed.

From applying to getting paid.

Waiting periods and processing time are different things.

  1. Apply with the agency

Use the official portal. Keep required records and confirm the claim or injury date.

  2. 7-day modeled wait

The first otherwise eligible week is an unpaid waiting week. File its weekly certification and meet all weekly requirements. An ineligible week does not satisfy the waiting requirement.

  3. Certify and confirm payment

Weeks run Sunday through Saturday. Certify after the week ends through https://jobseeker.launch.arkansas.gov or Arkline at 501-907-2590. Certification hours are Sunday 12:01 a.m.-6 p.m. and Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Central time. Work-search logging is separately available 24 hours a day. Report gross earned wages, hours and work-search activities, and follow the deadline for your claim.

Questions about Arkansas benefits.

How much unemployment will I get if I make $750 a week?

The modeled payment in Arkansas is about $375 per week, before tax withholding. Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters. The agency checks eligibility and can apply additional adjustments.

How long can the benefit last in Arkansas?

This calculation allows up to 12 payable weeks under the modeled regular program. This count uses the regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller. Wage credits, the benefit-year balance, certification and continuing eligibility can shorten payment. A maximum duration is not a guarantee.

Is there a waiting period before the first payment?

The first otherwise eligible week is an unpaid waiting week. File its weekly certification and meet all weekly requirements. An ineligible week does not satisfy the waiting requirement.

Why can my actual payment be different?

Uneven covered wages, the claim or injury date, part-time earnings, dependents, taxes, offsets and eligibility can change a result. Use actual wage details in the calculator and compare the assumptions with your agency determination.

Where do I apply or check my claim?
