Use actual wages & more details

Leave all quarters blank for steady pay. To use actual wages, fill all four; use 0 for an unpaid quarter.

Enter the four covered-wage quarters selected on your DES monetary determination. A benefit year normally begins on the Sunday of the filing week. DES must confirm quarter-boundary, overlapping-year or pre-disability periods; an ordinary last-four-quarter alternative is not assumed.

Up to 24 payable weeks

Based on your regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller.

The current 24-week ceiling is limited by one-third of base-period wages, with the total award rounded to a whole dollar. A final payment may be smaller. A new published quarterly unemployment rate can change the ceiling to 26 weeks or back to 24, including on an existing claim.

Weekly limit
$320
Waiting period
7 days

Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters.

Reviewed current amounts from October 2 through October 14, 2026. The next complete-quarter employment report is scheduled for October 15. This is a review deadline, not a promise that benefits change that day. Existing claims can receive a duration redetermination.

What shapes the award.

Weekly range
$236 to $320. Wage requirements still apply.
Duration
Up to 24 weeks under this program. The modeled benefit balance is $7,680.
Dependents
No dependents allowance in this modeled regular benefit.
Base period
First four of the last five completed calendar quarters before the first day of the benefit year. No alternate period is modeled here. Understand the quarters.
Alternate-period detail
There is no general last-four-quarter alternative. A separate pre-disability period may be available after qualifying workers’ compensation. It requires agency review of filing deadlines, the earlier unused wages and return-to-work efforts; this estimator uses the ordinary period only.
Covered-wage requirements
For the 2026 $15.15 Arizona minimum wage, one route requires at least $5,908.50 in the highest quarter and at least half that quarter in the other three combined. The other requires at least $8,000 in total covered wages across two or more quarters, including a quarter of at least $7,987.50. These are alternative routes, not cumulative tests.
Partial-week conditions
Work must be less than full-time through no fault of your own, and gross wages must be strictly below the regular weekly rate before the $160 allowance applies. Deduct wages above $160, then round the payment to the nearest dollar, with halves up. Report all work and earned wages for the week worked, even before payment. Shared Work has different rules.
Duration conditions
The current DES page lists a 24-week ceiling. The most recently published complete quarter of seasonally adjusted state unemployment rates selects 24 weeks below 5% or 26 at 5% or more. The lesser of that weekly-rate balance and one-third of base-period wages is rounded to the nearest dollar, with halves up. DES can issue a monetary redetermination during an existing benefit year.
Work registration
Register with Arizona Job Connection before benefits can be paid. DES attempts registration using your application; follow any notice to complete or activate it. Follow agency instructions for union or other approved arrangements.
Repeat benefit years
A subsequent benefit year requires services performed after the beginning of the prior benefit year and wages payable before the new year equal to at least eight times the new claim’s weekly rate. Already-used wages cannot be reused. This estimator does not check that intervening-work history.

Before you count on it.

  • Covered wages and employment are required.
  • This checks only the modeled monetary rules. The agency also checks your employment history and other eligibility conditions.
  • Separation, availability, work search and certification can affect payment.
  • Tax withholding, offsets and agency adjustments can change the amount received.

This is a wage calculation and an informational screen. Your agency or insurer decides your claim.

Keeping the claim eligible.

Unless DES grants an exception, complete at least four approved work-search contacts or activities on four different days each claimed week, including the waiting week. Enter details in CACTUS and keep verifiable records for two years from the start of the claim. Follow required reemployment appointments.

Read the official guidance

Taxes and the amount received.

Benefits are taxable. You may elect 10% federal withholding, or federal withholding plus Arizona withholding equal to 10% of the federal deduction. State-only withholding is unavailable. DES provides Form 1099-G. This estimate is before withholding, child support and other offsets.

From applying to getting paid.

Waiting periods and processing time are different things.

  1. Apply with the agency

Use the official portal. Keep required records and confirm the claim or injury date.

  2. 7-day modeled wait

One otherwise eligible unpaid waiting week is required. Certify for it. A week with earnings at least equal to the weekly rate, an ineligible week or a week before the claim’s effective date cannot receive waiting-week credit.

  3. Certify and confirm payment

A claimed week runs Sunday through Saturday. File after it ends, normally beginning Sunday, and keep certifying while the agency reviews your claim. CACTUS is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week; follow the weekly filing deadline shown for your claim. Report gross earned wages, all work and the required work-search details.

Questions about Arizona benefits.

How much unemployment will I get if I make $2,307.69 a week?

The modeled payment in Arizona is about $320 per week, before tax withholding. Assumes the same gross weekly pay throughout four 13-week quarters. The agency checks eligibility and can apply additional adjustments.

How long can the benefit last in Arizona?

This calculation allows up to 24 payable weeks under the modeled regular program. This count uses the regular weekly rate; the final payment may be smaller. Wage credits, the benefit-year balance, certification and continuing eligibility can shorten payment. A maximum duration is not a guarantee.

Is there a waiting period before the first payment?

One otherwise eligible unpaid waiting week is required. Certify for it. A week with earnings at least equal to the weekly rate, an ineligible week or a week before the claim’s effective date cannot receive waiting-week credit.

Why can my actual payment be different?

Uneven covered wages, the claim or injury date, part-time earnings, dependents, taxes, offsets and eligibility can change a result. Use actual wage details in the calculator and compare the assumptions with your agency determination.

Where do I apply or check my claim?
